PARADISE P-500 Modem Redundancy system 8 x 1 Modem Redundancy Systems 8-For-1 Redundancy P500 1-For-N Redundancy Switch System The P500 provides 1:N switching for up to eight modems. The P500 will operate with P200, P300 and P400 series modems and provides the facility to mix electrical interfaces with a single switch, automatically configuring the backup modem to provide the same electrical interface as the failed equipment (P300/P400 only). The P500 may also be configured to switch the ESC circuits. If the modems in the switch are required to operate on more than one transponder the optional P525 Transponder Switch allows the modems in the switch to operate with up to 8 separate transponders. Mixed P300 and P400 Series modems with differing capabilities may be operated within the same P500 provided the backup modem has the equivalent features of the highest specified modem in the group. For example you could mix P300-VSATs, P440s, and P300-TCMs in one P500, but the backup would need to be a P480 or P300-TCM.
